Leucadia Homes

Leucadia is a quiet surfing town with an eclectic mix of artists, surfers, families and everyday folks who are seeking an increasing rare, relaxed lifestyle in a place that reminds many of California’s beach towns immortalized in early Beach Boys’ tunes.

Leucadia is part of Encinitas, quietly nestled in San Diego County along Encinitas’ north coast, just south of Carlsbad. Leucadia is so laid-back, very few streets have curbs or sidewalks, and the tree lined streets can quickly turn into unpaved roads that lead to the private homes that hug the bluffs.

This beautiful community is just off the famed Pacific Coast Highway 101, where its 100-year-old shopping district is made up of small boutiques, casual restaurants, quirky stores and surf shops that are a big draw for tourists, while Leucadia beaches such as Swami’s, Grandview, Beacon’s and Stonesteps attract surfers seeking some of the best waves in Southern California.

Neptune Avenue that runs parallel to the coast provides stunning ocean views and access down steep steps to most beaches. Some of the most desirable real estate can be found along Neptune Avenue.

Leucadia was once covered with avocado trees. Today, many nursery growers still continue the areas long agricultural tradition. Leucadia’s naturally lush landscape includes flower fields, fruit trees and tracts of vacant land that create a decidedly rural feel to the area. Intermixed with the lush landscaping you’ll often find large custom homes next to charming cottages with prized ocean views. Leucadia is also host to many interesting annual events including the Annual Fall Festival, the Wavecrest Woodie Meet, and the Annual OktoberFest.

A number of small condo projects with fairly expensive price tags have popped up on some vacant parcels of land near the Leucadia bluffs west of Highway 101.

Leucadia homes for sale include single family detached homes, estate properties, condominiums, and townhomes, and some land lots for custom builds. Prices for single family homes for sale typically range from the $300s to upwards of $4 million, while condos for sale are usually offered in the $200s to over $1 million range.
